Laboratory of Ability Psychology

About the Laboratory

The Laboratory of Ability Psychology is one of the first units of research institutions of National Research University Higher School of Economics. It was established to develop the psychological theory of human being abilities and to put forward its applications for educational needs. Nowadays the Laboratory is in the status of the Scientific-Educational Laboratory and trains students and researchers who are interested in the studies of actual problems of ability psychology and person’s mental development.

Currently the Scientific-Educational Laboratory of Ability Psychology is the leading laboratory of the School of Psychology that promotes theoretical and experimental researches and multidisciplinary studies in investigation and development of human abilities as a subject of an activity. The ability theory and system and activity genetic conception of Professor Vladimir D. Shadrikow are the basis of researches that conduct in the Laboratory.

The key objective of actual basic researches of the Laboratory is to carry out studies of the ‘thought’ in its ontological status.
